i love that she referenced the WWI balaclava, too, since that has been a to do for quite some time in my personal stash of links for my dad and kevin and sebe.. but now.. i’m taking it in a different direction; something quite similar to the ’65 mcCall’s ski masks featured in meredith’s post, however, i’m adding my own take on the ski mask bit.. which is what you’re supposed to do. i’m so excited about it, i could poop my pants. i’m mapping out the color chart now and have to have it done by the end of next week. i’m scared.

i am officially confused and a little overwhelmed and creeped out about the random and frequent friends requests. i am deleting all my accounts online and creating newer, more private means of communicating with friends and family abroad, not for any other reasons than the simple fact of mistaken identity… i apologize for any disappointment if some people maybe think i am someone i am not. i’d really like to just be left alone and for the real people who i am being mistaken for to clear this up. i just want to knit and eat ferrero rochers.

my goal is to get a website launched before the end of the year with knit and crochet patterns available for free and for purchase.. gotta fight the good fight and stop talking about doing this. ain’t nobody got nothin’ did flappin’ their jaws. first i gotta come up with a new name for my new venture… angryolive has to be a thing of the past. i’m okay with that.

I’ve got so many projects on the list, I don’t know where to start. All I know is that i want to replicate THIS design.

And wear the SHIT out of it.

However, I am extremely pleased with the outcome, and they’re featured online and the printouts will be available for stores very soon!!

Grendel must die.

I am at a loss for words. I don’t want to use profanities in this journal- I DON’T! Grendel is a dirty, rotten, hairy sphincter face… HOLE! UH, I’m so mad! I’m taking deep breaths and trying to fight back the tears, but it’s difficult. And now he’s outside barking at the neighbors. I spent 45 minutes trying to unravel some of it, but it’s no use. This is the GOOD stuff. EXPENSIVE stuff.. Gone, just like that.

He did this because I was gone for 5 days. Kevin left them inside while he was at work. They were in the house from 8:30 am to 8:00 pm, so yeah. If they had to pee or were hungry or thirsty, they were gonna take it out on MY stuff. Kevin’s things are upstairs and out of harm’s way. Even if his things were in the destructo-zone, they’re all metal in nature and probably wouldn’t have been as fun to chew.

Oh my god. I just don’t know what to do anymore. I think I’ll cry for a little while longer and resume cleaning house. I’ve spent 3 hours cleaning the kitchen and living room alone. I’m still not finished in the living room. I had to leave for a moment because the sight was too disturbing and overwhelming. I felt like a rookie cop discovering a gruesome crime scene for the first time. I almost lost my lunch… I lost the will to live instead.

So here it is.

I wanted to do something interesting when changing from black to orange with the sleeves. This was the best I could come up with.. or at least, what I liked the most.

Oh, and the ears. I was going to do something fancier, but decided to make them simple. I figured using all three colors was fancy enough. White on the front, black and orange on the back. These were the icing on the cake. I’m so sad it’s over!!

I really hope he doesn’t leave me after he watches this. I promise I’ll get better. It’s been too long! I will redeem myself. xoxo

These little bastards are so easy, I wish I had designed them. I found this awesome pattern: Ribby Slipper Socks by Cathy Carron in the Holiday 2008 issue of Interweave Knits.

So, these slippers? They rock. The pattern calls for yarn that’s more or less WAY out of my price range, but I managed to knit them from lamb’s pride bulky, and they fit well enough. I still have half the skein left!

Also, instead of knitting the sockish part of the pattern, I picked up the stitches and crocheted two post stitch rows to give it a nice, clean border. It also gave the appearance of two extra stockinette stitches along the edge. Rock!

I reaaaaaaallly wanted to add little pom poms to these, because the cuteness would be overwhelming, but perhaps too overwhelming, and when i think of my mom, I don’t think of pom poms. I think of.. well, not pom poms. I’ll just have to make some for myself with the pom poms. My toes are freezing in this house, anyway.

I made something crazy and weird and I LOVE it. I”m trying to stay away from any real anatomical names. That would just be kinda gross.

Before I added the fancy crochet thing thing around the i-cord, it was originally intended to be a hat. But once I cycled through my colors just once, it was already so long and bulky that.. well.. a hat just didn’t seem practical. I’m all about artistic approaches, but if practicality is completely thrown out the window, I can’t bring myself to go through with the project… And this thing is not your typical scarf or cowl or hat or umbilical cord. Sebastian thinks it’s something else entirely. He’s obsessed with a game called Left 4 Dead, and he thinks I’m Zoey (one of the characters). There is a particular zombie that shoots out a long tongue at its victims and wraps them up with it and proceeds to do zombie torture on said unfortuante soul. Sebastian asked me why I made a smoker tongue. I thought it was a reasonable question.

My hamchop and a half. He’s not really keen on modeling for me these days. He’s been the posterchild of Angryolive for way too long. He runs when he sees me with something knitted in one hand and a camera in the other. Unless it’s the webcam. Then he’s ALL over it. Unfortunately, he won’t let me put things on him during his photoshoots.

And while I was typing about practicality, I could help but think about my nevernude and how it’s anything but.. BUT.. it fits, it’s comfortable, and it’s too effing funny NOT to make.
